CMF’s Collaborative Model Highlighted at AMAN Dialogue
The Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) Deputy Commander highlighted the organization’s successful collaborative approach during the first ever AMAN Dialogue in Pakistan. This landmark event, hosted at the Pakistan Naval Academy, brought together naval leaders from across the globe to address pressing maritime security challenges.
CMF’s Security Framework
Royal Navy Commodore Ben Aldous delivered a compelling presentation emphasizing CMF’s unique position as a coalition of 46 nations. The organization’s framework has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in coordinating international maritime security efforts, particularly in protecting crucial shipping lanes spanning 3.2 million square miles of water. This collaborative model has become increasingly relevant as maritime threats continue to evolve and diversify.
Maritime Challenges & Cooperation
The maritime domain faces an array of complex challenges that demand coordinated international response. These include strategic competition, piracy, narcotics trafficking, environmental concerns, and emerging cyber threats. During his address, Commodore Aldous emphasized how these challenges, while significant, present opportunities for strengthening international partnerships and developing innovative security solutions.

AMAN Dialogue
The inaugural AMAN Dialogue, organized by Pakistan’s National Institute of Maritime Affairs, served as a crucial platform for maritime security discussions. The event, running from February 9-10, 2025, was integrated into the larger AMAN Exercise 25, which took place from February 7-11 in Karachi’s coastal waters. This comprehensive approach combined strategic dialogue with practical military exercises, reinforcing the importance of both theoretical and operational aspects of maritime security.
The success of this event underscores the growing recognition of collaborative maritime security models in maintaining global stability. As international shipping lanes face increasingly complex threats, the CMF’s framework provides a tested blueprint for effective multinational cooperation in maritime security operations.
