ADVENT Combat Management System Enters Service with First NATO Navy

HAVELSAN ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS) has entered service with the Romanian Navy, marking the first time the solution has been deployed by a NATO member.

ADVENT Combat Management System’s First NATO Deployment

The delivery was completed as part of the transfer of the ADVENT Combat Management System. ROMAN corvette to Romania. Alongside the vessel, ADVENT was delivered for operational use by the Romanian Naval Forces. ADVENT integrates multiple naval platforms into a single, shared operational picture. That capability is already in use across 10 countries on 4 continents, including Türkiye.

ADVENT Combat Management System Capabilities

Developed by HAVELSAN in close cooperation with the Turkish Navy, ADVENT Combat Management System was conceived with a force-oriented operational approach that connects multiple platforms through a common operational picture rather than serving as a combat management system for a single ship. It supports command and control, threat evaluation, decision support, target detection, and sensor and weapon management, helping commanders maintain situational awareness and make faster, more informed decisions during maritime operations.

This approach allows ADVENT to support coordinated operations across different domains. Designed for use on a wide range of naval platforms, the system can operate in surface, subsurface and air environments while enabling multiple assets to work within the same operational picture. Its capabilities have also been extended to unmanned naval systems through the ADVENT ROTA Mission Management System, broadening the scope of the ADVENT Combat Management System.

ADVENT’s Modular Architecture and Interoperability

ADVENT’s modular architecture allows it to be configured according to different operational requirements. It can be integrated across platforms ranging from patrol boats and major surface combatants to shore-based command centres and unmanned systems. The system also supports interoperability with allied forces through various operational protocols, enabling it to adapt to the needs of different navies.

HAVELSAN continues to develop ADVENT Combat Management System with new capabilities, including the AI-supported ADVENT AI version, while preparing different configurations of the system for future international users.

The Romanian programme marks ADVENT’s first deployment within a NATO navy, extending a user base that already spans Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America. The latest deployment reflects the growing international adoption of the system and reinforces HAVELSAN’s position in the field of naval combat management systems.
