Indonesian Air Force Confirms Acquisition of Bayraktar TB2 UCAV
The Indonesian Air Force has officially confirmed its acquisition of the Bayraktar TB2 Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) from Turkey’s Baykar Technology. This significant development in Indonesia’s military modernization was announced by Air Force Chief of Staff, Mohamad Tommy Harjono, following his recent visit to Turkey.
Indonesia becomes the 29th or 30th country to procure the globally renowned Bayraktar TB2. The acquisition is part of a broader plan to enhance Indonesia’s air defense capabilities. The Bayraktar TB2 will complement Indonesia’s existing drone fleet, including the ANKA from Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and Chinese-made CH-4.
