IDA On-Ground: Defence Minister Reviews DSA & NATSEC Asia 2026 Preparations
KUALA LUMPUR, April 19, 2026 — Malaysia’s Defence Minister, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, conducted a comprehensive press walkabout today on Sunday to assess the final stage of preparations for the upcoming Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security (NATSEC) Asia 2026 exhibitions, set to take place from April 20 to 23 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre.
The high-level inspection focused on ensuring full operational readiness across all aspects of the event, including logistics for the expansive 45,000-square-meter exhibition space and stringent security protocols. During the visit, the minister toured key exhibition zones, interacted with staff engaged in last-minute arrangements, and received detailed briefings from the event organizer, DSA Exhibition and Conference Sdn Bhd.

Emphasizing seamless media operations, the Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with organizers, has established a fully equipped media center featuring high-speed broadband and dedicated workspaces. Authorities have underscored that security and visitor comfort remain top priorities, with the exhibition expected to attract over 50,000 trade visitors from 114 countries.
The event will be officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on April 20, marking the start of one of the region’s most significant defence and security gatherings. The four-day exhibition will feature global and local defence industry showcases, strategic forums, contract signings, Letters of Intent (LOIs), and key Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP) agreements.
Also present during the inspection were Chief of Defence Forces General Datuk Haji Malek Razak bin Sulaiman, Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali, alongside senior ministry officials and military leadership.
The DSA & NATSEC Asia 2026 exhibitions are widely seen as a critical platform for advancing defence cooperation, innovation, and strategic dialogue across the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
