HAVELSAN AND AOI SIGN SALES AGREEMENT FOR HAMZA-1 UAV

At El Alamein International Airshow 2026, HAVELSAN and Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) signed a sales agreement for the HAMZA-1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, developed under the two organisations’ cooperation in autonomous systems.

HAVELSAN and the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) have taken a further step in their cooperation in unmanned systems with the sales agreement signed at El Alamein International Airshow 2026. The HAMZA-1 programme brings together HAVELSAN’s engineering and technological expertise in autonomous systems with AOI’s local manufacturing capabilities in Egypt.

The new agreement follows the strategic cooperation agreement signed by HAVELSAN and AOI on 26 August 2025, covering the joint production in Egypt of autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles with vertical take-off and landing capabilities.

Developed under this cooperation, HAMZA-1 combines HAVELSAN’s engineering and technological expertise in autonomous systems with AOI’s local manufacturing capabilities. The first HAMZA-1 system developed under the cooperation was unveiled at EDEX 2025, held in Cairo in December 2025.

With the sales agreement signed at El Alamein International Airshow, the HAMZA-1 programme has entered a new phase, extending the cooperation from joint production activities to a commercial agreement. This step further advances HAVELSAN’s approach to combining its technologies with local manufacturing capabilities and pursuing opportunities for jointly developed solutions in international markets.

As part of the agreement, deliveries of HAMZA-1 are expected to take place in the coming period.

The HAMZA-1 programme reflects the developing defence technology cooperation between Türkiye and Egypt while highlighting HAVELSAN’s commitment to international joint production and localisation. Through the programme, HAVELSAN brings its engineering expertise and autonomous systems capabilities together with AOI’s local manufacturing capabilities as part of a long-term cooperation approach.

El Alamein International Airshow 2026, which brings together representatives from the defence, commercial aviation and space sectors, is taking place at El Alamein International Airport from 8 to 10 September.
