Thai Defence Industry Co., Ltd. (TDI) has secured a groundbreaking agreement with Pakistan for the supply of 100 First Win 4×4 armored vehicles, marking a significant milestone in defense cooperation between the two nations. The agreement, formalized on September 18, 2024, establishes a partnership between TDI and Pakistan’s Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT). The signing ceremony brought together key figures from both nations, including Colonel Thanai Phuemphun, Thailand’s Acting Assistant Military Attache in Islamabad, and Major General Atique Ahmed, HIT’s Director General Technical. Mr. Kant Kulhiran represented TDI, while Colonel (Ret.) Ajmal Rafique, CEO of Margalla Heavy Industries Limited, signed on behalf of HIT.

Technology Transfer Benefits

This collaboration extends beyond vehicle procurement, incorporating significant technology transfer arrangements that will enable HIT to manufacture First Win vehicles domestically. Operating under Pakistan Army supervision, HIT will leverage its extensive experience in armored vehicle production to integrate this new capability into its manufacturing portfolio.

The First Win, designed by Chaiseri Metal & Rubber Co., Ltd., represents advanced Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) technology. Originally developed to address security challenges in Southern Thailand, the vehicle offers exceptional mobility in restricted terrain where larger vehicles cannot operate.
