New Warplanes Set to Debut at Airshow China

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force has announced that it will showcase some of its most advanced warplanes at the upcoming 15th Airshow China in Zhuhai. This event, scheduled for November 12-17, is set to become a platform for China to demonstrate its latest achievements in military aviation technology and capabilities.

New Aircraft and Technologies on Display

Lieutenant General Yu Qingjiang, vice commander of the PLA Air Force, revealed that newly developed warplanes will make their public debut during flight performances at the airshow. These aircraft are expected to showcase China’s capabilities in long-range strategic delivery and air combat.

Additionally, a range of new equipment will be featured in static displays, offering a comprehensive view of the PLA Air Force’s advancements in various domains including air combat, air strike, unmanned and anti-unmanned warfare, strategic delivery, airdropping, early warning, and air defense.

Potential Debuts and Expectations

While military enthusiasts are eager for a glimpse of the H-20 stealth bomber, experts suggest it may not be ready for its debut. Instead, potential candidates for unveiling include a medium-sized stealth fighter jet developed from the FC-31, unmanned stealth drones, new special operations aircraft, and modified versions of known aircraft, such as the Y-20 with new domestic engines. There’s also speculation about the possible appearance of the J-35, China’s next-generation carrier-borne stealth fighter jet, following recent testing on the aircraft carrier Liaoning.

Multi-Service Participation

The airshow will feature unprecedented participation from the PLA Army, Navy, and Air Force, highlighting China’s integrated approach to military modernization. This multi-service involvement underscores the event’s significance in showcasing China’s overall military capabilities.
