Bayraktar Kemankes intelligent mini cruise missile

Turkey has developed a new cruise missile named “Bayraktar Kemankes”. This mini intelligent cruise missile is developed by Baykar and is designed to increase the ability to attack strategic targets with Bayraktar TB2. It was introduced for the first time at TEKNOFEST, an event organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. In this article, we will discuss the technical features, advantages, and capabilities of Bayraktar Kemankes intelligent mini cruise missile.

Bayraktar Kemankes Technical Features

The Bayraktar Kemankes has a total weight of 35 kilograms and comes with a warhead weighing 6 kilograms. It is designed with a jet engine that enables it to travel up to 250 kilometers and remain airborne for approximately one hour. The missile’s current communication range is 50 kilometers but is anticipated to reach 100 kilometers in the future.

Additionally, it is equipped with a gimbal system and artificial intelligence to analyze images and attack targets. The Bayraktar Kemankes also has its own anti-interference GNSS systems, making it capable of functioning in electronic warfare environments.

Advantages of Bayraktar Kemankes

Bayraktar Kemankes presents several advantages over laser-guided munitions. While the latter requires the operator to approach the target and have visual contact, putting them in harm’s way, Bayraktar Kemankes can be controlled from a much safer distance without entering the risk zone.

Moreover, the missile can target objects without visual contact by utilizing its gimbal system and artificial intelligence to analyze images. It is also capable of transmitting a wide range of data, such as altitude, flight speed, temperature, and target information, as well as the entire camera image, to the ground control station of Bayraktar TB2.

Bayraktar Kemankes Capabilities

The integration of Bayraktar Kemankes with Bayraktar TB2,TB3 drone and other unmanned aerial vehicles developed by Baykar will significantly enhance their capabilities. The missile’s communication capabilities allow for capturing images from long distances, which can be directed by Bayraktar TB2, effectively turning it into another unmanned aerial vehicle. With Bayraktar Kemankes, Bayraktar TB2 can target strategic objectives behind enemy lines without visual contact, making it more efficient and practical.

Bayraktar Kemankes is an innovative addition to Turkey’s military arsenal. With its advanced technical features and capabilities, it provides several advantages over traditional laser-guided munitions, including the ability to operate from a longer distance and attack targets without visual contact. The integration of Bayraktar Kemankes with Bayraktar TB2 and other unmanned aerial vehicles developed by Baykar will significantly enhance their capabilities. The successful flight test of the missile is a promising development, and Baykar plans to start mass production this year, which will undoubtedly increase the country’s military strength.
