Ukrainian Armor Debuts New UGV Protector

Ukrainian Armor has made a significant impact at the MSPO International Defense Industry Exhibition in Poland, showcasing two innovative military vehicles: the UGV Protector and the Varta 2 armored combat vehicle. These unveilings represent a major step forward in unmanned ground vehicle technology and armored vehicle design.

UGV Protector

The UGV Protector, an unmanned ground vehicle, has been designed with a clear focus on executing dangerous missions safely. Vladyslav Belbas, CEO of Ukrainian Armor, emphasized that the development was informed by front-line military experience with unmanned vehicles.

`Key features of the UGV Protector include

  • Weight capacity up to 4,000 kg
  • 190 hp engine capable of speeds up to 60 km/h
  • Stanag 4569 level 1 ballistic protection
  • Operational range of over 15 kilometers from the operator
  • Integration with the ICoMWare situational awareness system

The versatility of the UGV Protector is notable. While primarily positioned as a logistics platform, it can serve multiple roles including reconnaissance, drone transport and launch, casualty evacuation, and cargo transport. Belbas also highlighted its potential as a combat robot, capable of mounting weapons to engage enemy armor and personnel.

Ukrainian Armor stresses the UGV Protector’s competitive advantages, including its low price point and rapid production capability.
