Ukraine's Experience in Focus at SAHA 2026

Ukraine’s Experience in Focus at SAHA 2026

Within the national exhibition stand, 15 Ukrainian companies demonstrated a wide range of battle-proven technologies to the international community. These ranged from autonomous unmanned systems and electronic warfare equipment to ground robotic complexes that have been tested in real combat conditions.

This year, the Ukrainian ZBROYA exposition made its debut at SAHA 2026 in Istanbul, Turkey. SAHA is one of the world’s most powerful defense exhibitions and is organized by the largest industrial cluster in Turkey and Europe. The event brought together participants from more than 120 countries, with over 1,700 companies presenting their latest defense industry innovations.

The Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry (UCDI) represented Ukraine’s private manufacturing sector through the ZBROYA joint national stand. The stand featured 15 companies in total: 13 exhibited their products directly, while two participated in a business-visitor format. Throughout the exhibition, thousands of guests visited the ZBROYA stand, and the participating companies held more than 100 B2B meetings.

Official Delegations and Agreements

The ZBROYA stand attracted high-profile official visits during the exhibition. Two notable delegates attended from allied and partner nations.

  • Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, visited the stand to meet with Ukrainian defense manufacturers.
  • Nariman Dzhelyalov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkey, also attended the exhibition.

The exhibition also produced a significant institutional outcome. The Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the SAHA İstanbul Defence & Aerospace Cluster Association — one of the most influential global defense and aerospace clusters. The memorandum covers cooperation in innovation and technological development between the two organizations.

Panel Discussion: FPV Drones and Asymmetric Warfare

Ihor Fedirko, CEO of the UCDI, took part in the panel discussion titled “FPV Drones and New Approaches in Asymmetric Warfare.” During the discussion, he emphasized that the Ukrainian drone industry is changing at an extraordinary pace. He stated that the industry’s strategic goal is to replace infantry with autonomous systems in order to reduce casualties and increase operational efficiency. Drones and robotic complexes are becoming the central tools of this transformation. As a result, manufacturers must update and adapt their products every few months based on direct feedback from the front lines.

“Ukraine’s experience today is forming new standards in the military sphere. SAHA 2026 successfully demonstrated once again that visitors from all over the world — from the Baltic countries to the Middle East — are interested in Ukrainian defense products. Overall, almost all areas of the Ukrainian drone industry were represented at ZBROYA: ground robotic complexes, interceptors, bombers, mid-strike, and deep-strike systems. SIGINT and EW equipment were also showcased, alongside components such as electric motors for drones and battery packs. Unmanned aerial vehicles drew the most attention, primarily interceptor drones, as well as other small-scale air defense systems. The demand for ground robotic complexes is also steadily growing.”
