Ukraine’s Experience in Focus at SAHA 2026

This year, the Ukrainian ZBROYA exposition was presented for the first time at SAHA 2026 (Istanbul, Turkiye) one of the world’s most powerful defense exhibitions, organized by the largest industrial cluster in Turkiye and Europe. This massive event brought together participants from more than 120 countries and over 1,700 companies presenting their latest defense industry innovations.

The Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry presented the Ukrainian private manufacturing sector through the ZBROYA exposition a joint national stand featuring 15 companies, 13 of which exhibited their products, while two participated as business visitors. Throughout the exhibition, the ZBROYA joint national stand was visited by thousands of guests, and the participating companies conducted more than 100 B2B meetings.

Official delegations visiting ZBROYA included Edvinas Grikšas, Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, and Nariman Dzhelyalov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Turkiye. During the exhibition, the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in innovation and technological development with one of the most influential global defense and aerospace clusters, the SAHA İstanbul Defence & Aerospace Cluster Association (Turkiye).

Ihor Fedirko, CEO of the UCDI, participated in a panel discussion titled “FPV Drones and New Approaches in Asymmetric Warfare,” during which he emphasized that the Ukrainian drone industry is changing extremely rapidly. He stated that its strategic goal is to replace infantry with autonomous systems to reduce casualties and increase efficiency. Drones and robotic complexes are becoming key tools in this transformation, requiring manufacturers to adapt their products every few months based on direct feedback from the front lines.

“Ukraine’s experience today is forming new standards in the military sphere. SAHA 2026 successfully demonstrated once again that visitors from all over the world from the Baltic countries to the Middle East are interested in Ukrainian defense products. Overall, almost all areas of the Ukrainian drone industry were represented at ZBROYA: ground robotic complexes, interceptors, bombers, mid-strike, and deep-strike systems. SIGINT and EW equipment were also showcased, alongside components such as electric motors for drones and battery packs. Naturally, unmanned aerial vehicles drew the most attention, primarily interceptor drones, as well as other small-scale air defense systems like detection systems, radar solutions, acoustic sensors, and signal suppression systems. The demand for ground robotic complexes is also steadily growing.”
