India Successfully Tests Phase-II Ballistic Missile Defence System
India has made a significant advancement in its missile defense capabilities with the successful flight test of its Phase-II Ballistic Missile Defence System. Test Details and Performance
The test was carried out at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Odisha. A target missile, simulating an adversary ballistic missile with a range of 5,000 km, was launched at 1620 hours. The defense system’s radars, deployed on land and sea, detected the incoming missile and activated the interceptor system.
At 1624 hours, the Phase-II AD Endo-atmospheric missile was launched from LC-III at ITR, Chandipur. The test successfully demonstrated the system’s ability to intercept and neutralize ballistic missiles in the endo to low exo-atmospheric regions.
Technical Specifications
The Phase-II AD Endo-atmospheric missile is an indigenously developed, two-stage, solid-propelled, ground-launched system. It is designed to counter various types of enemy ballistic missile threats within the earth’s atmosphere and in the lower exo-atmospheric regions.

Significance of the Test
